Anyone heard of Marrakesh restaurant in D.C?
Hotel Ratesstiffaney_3 asked:
My husband and I will be in D.C. next weekend for a litle getaway and we have heard about the Morrocan restaurant, Marrakesh. Does anyone know how much the pre fixed menu costs per person? I also heard that they only accept cash/check, no credit?? I’ve also heard that they charge you extra if you are there around 9:00 when they do the belly dancing, whether you want it or not! We are trying to decide between Marrakesh and the Sky Room restaurant at the top of Hotel Washington for a “romantic” dinner. Any thoughts???

Yes, the Marrakesh restaurant expects only cash payments. A fixed 7-course dinner, without liquor, costs around $ 50/- per person. The ‘entertainment’ and liquor are charged for, extra.
You can have a leisurely meal, that lasts well over 2 hours - and, yes, taste a real slice of Morocco here.
For more details [except about their food's prices, which they avoid listing !], please visit :

Yes, I’ve been there. You could probably call the restaurant to ask about pricing, I notice that it’s not listed on their website. Their website does say that they only accept cash or check, though. If you’re looking for Moroccan food, I’d recommend going to Casablanca in Old Town instead. I’ve been to both and liked Casablanca better. Its prices are listed on the website and they’re not bad. Also, Marrakesh is weird because every so often they stop everything and sing happy birthday to people and stuff. It creates a strange atmosphere. They don’t do that at Casablanca.
The top of the Hotel Washington is really nice but quite touristy.
