Why would a hotel offer room prices per hour and not only per day?
Hotel PricesD’Arcy asked:
I have family coming to vist from far away. As I rent a bachelor flat, I do not have space for my family to stay with me. I went to the nearest hotel and they gave me the price for an hour and for the evening. Why would a hotel give me a quote per hour and is it normal? I thought it was for like couples who are having an affair or something? I now dont fancy the place so much for my family to stay at. What do you think?

Yeah it’s for people who want to have a one night stand or maybe if someone is on the road and needs to rent the room to sleep for a few hours before going on to the next stop. Instead of sleeping in their car they can rent out a nice bed to get a good nap in.

You’re correct: Hotels that charge by the hour tend to have clients that meet there for romantic liaisons (to put it delicately). There might be a nicer section of the hotel that is per day only, but otherwise, it sounds like it might not be the best hotel for a family stay.

Sounds awful like a knocking shop for hookers.
I’d go somewhere classier!
