St. Augustine Beach, Florida?

Looking to stay at St Augustine from June 29, 2009 to July 3, 2009. Which is the best motel that is reasonably priced (less than $90/night), clean, and close to both the historic district and beach?

Are there any motels that are walking distance to both the historic district and beach?
What attractions would you suggest for a honeymoon?
Thanks in advance.

Hello - and Congratulations on your upcoming marriage.
You will either have to stay at the beach or the historic district. They are not within walking distance of each other.
There is a cute little local hotel that is near the historic district called the Bayfront Inn. It will be a bit more than your budget, around a hundred a night, but it is in a great location. You’ll be able to walk to restaurants and attractions. Be sure to ask for a second floor room as the view is better.
I always suggest the Old Town Trolleys or Sightseeing Trains. The tickets are good for three days, the tours are narrated, and it is fun riding around town in the open cars. The Old Town Trolleys have a beach bus that you can ride to the beach.
If you decide to stay at the beach have your desk clerk call and they will come and pick you up so you don’t have to worry about parking when you get into town.
There are some great attractions around town. Top of my list is the Lighthouse and Museum, the Alligator Farm, the Colonial Spanish Quarter, and the Castillo de San Marcos. And don’t miss St. George Street.
I hope you have a wonderful visit.
