How much should I expect to pay for a hotel in Ireland?
Hotel PricesTraveler asked:
This Spring Break my mom and I will be travelling to Dublin, Ireland for the very first time. We are planning to only make arrangements for our flights, and go where ever the rains take us for the duration of the trip. However, we would like to know what the average hotel price is per night, what the most inexpensive hotels costs and what type of hotel is the cheapest? B&B? Hostel? We’re willing to sleep with the roaches if necessairy. Ha,ha! Also, if anyone has any suggestions for specific inexpensive hotels, please let me know!

Use the “cheapOair” &/or “Hotels Combined” search engines in the website referred below. Fill-up DUB or Dublin in the box for city, fill -up the Check-in & Check-out dates and click “Search”.
You will get several options to suit various budgets. You can browse, compare and book online. For your conveience there is a Currency Converter in the E-Library page.

Youth Hostels will be by far the cheapest.
They are generally clean but pretty basic. If you want to eat there you have to bring your own food and cook it - an depending on how much you pay and where you stay, you might be able to get a room with 2 beds for you both, or you might have to share with complete strangers.
The ones I have stopped in have had a lockable cupboard - but you have to bring your own padlock - bring a large-ish one because the design of the cupboards sometimes mean a small one will go straight through the ‘hole’ and be totally ineffective.
Edit:
Something you need to be aware of - a lot of hotels advertise cheap prices, but the ‘from’ bit gives it away.

You can stay just outside Dublin for well under $100 per night. I just searched for you and found some for $79. Good luck!
