Hawaii Vacation?
Hotel Pricesbeverlywas asked:
I will be planning a vacation to Hawaii however i looked through many many websites about good hotel/flight prices and whatnot. and i just wanted opinions from everybody else other than websites.
so i was wondering which hotels are the best that are cheap and look “pretty” i don’t want a motel type of place, where it smells, small and dingy. so i was wondering if any of you guys have been to hawaii
1. what to do there
2. what attractions to see or do
3. what hotels are reasonable prices and good condiiton
4. is it necessary to rent a car?
5. i’m mainly concerned about hotels b/c i like to sight see
so… more details about hotel.. i don’t want like hyatt hotel b/c that’s just wayyyy too pricey.. (i’m assuming) so please help me.
thank you so much.

I prefer the Pacific Beach Hotel. I have stayed there four out of six times. It is not cheap, but it isn’t the Hyatt either! It is a 3* hotel.
You should check out the Ohana Hotels on Expedia.com You might get a good one.
You could learn to surf from the Beach Boys, hike Diamond Head, go to the Arizona Memorial, tour the island by bus, eat at Dukes Canoe Club, or eat at Cheeseburger in Paradise, or for a less expensive place to eat, try Seaside Bar and Grill, that is on the corners of Seaside and Kuhio Ave on Oahu.
Numerous attractions to see (including the above mentioned), go to Dole Plantation, Iolani Palace, go see Dog the Bounty Hunter at his office.
No, it is not necessary to rent a car. You can get a four day Discovery thebus pass at any ABC store. It costs $20.00 for four consecutive days and you can get on and off any of the TheBus busses during those four days! It is a very good deal!
You can get your sunscreen at any ABC store instead of bringing it with you. Clothing is like summer wear (whatever you wear during the summer (no black clothing), flip flops, tshirts, no formal wear (they wear relaxed clothing there).
The Pacific Beach Hotel (Oceanarium Tower), has a buffet breakfast that is really good. You can eat there, and then not have to eat again until supper time!! It has a 280,000 gallon “fish tank” at this hotel. You can eat while watching the fish!! It is pretty cool!
The rooms have either two double beds or a king size bed in the rooms.
I hope this helps you!!

Gloria gives you some good links.
Check out the Ambassador Hotel in Waikiki, they even have kitchen units and a resonable internet rate you can get.
I have stayed there and its not bad.
And here is another link of things to do.
Have fun and Aloha
