Going to Montreal in November?
Hotel Pricesdizzydylan4 asked:
Okay, so me and a couple friends are going to Montreal, Canada in Nov. I was just wondering if anyone had any “need to know” info. I’m looking for a cheap motel room. Know any? I need prices. Also, any other info I could use that i might forget will be appreciated. Im going from NY, to Montreal. I’m also looking for streets downtown, bars, and casinos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And, if possible, can someone give me some prices for cheap hotels or motels? Thanks.

I am sure you will have a great time in Montreal - it’s a lot of fun.
Since you obviously like the nightlife, there are two main streets you want to keep in mind: rue Saint Laurent and rue Crescent.
Saint Laurent is longer, and has a lot more places on it, though it is *primarily* the French-language clubing area. That being said, the language is becoming less and less of a segregated thing and you will not have any problems. Crescent is right near Concordia University and is the stereotypical English clubbing street.
There is only one casino in town - the Casino de Montreal. It is easily accessible via metro (subway) by taking the yellow line to the Jean-Drapeau station (which is out on an island in the Saint Lawrence river) and then bus number 167 for the short ride. Take a look at the link in the sources below for the casino details and all options for getting there, including the free casino shuttle.
You might happen to be there for the amazing fireworks competition that is held each summer - check the second link for more details.
Finally, accommodations might be a bit tricky if you want a cheap motel room, as there are not too many such places in the downtown area. I would recommend that you just try as many websites as you can - places like Expedia and Travelocity - but in the Montreal area you may get a fantastic rate from Priceline.com so give that a try.
Have a great trip!
