Can hotel prices in India be negociated?
Hotel PricesMrmojo6068 asked:
I’m going to India and I read that you can bargain even prices of hotels. Is this true? If so, does this apply to nicer hotels as well?

While you can negotiate with the small hotels, no negotiation will be possible with big star hotels as they will have their fixed tarriff.

Yes
But maybe not the nicer hotels - you don’t haggle, but can ask for a discount

That depends totally upon the category of hotel you are choosing. If you are going for some grand hotels like hotels by Taj group, Oberoi group or some others. Their price are fixed n no bargaining. but if you choose some nice but local hotels yes you can do a bargaining for hotels rate also. One essential suggestion if you are going for a nice but local hotel don’t ever go to a booking agent. They will charge you much more than the exact room-rent.

Tariffs negotiable with unrecognised lodgings.
Luxury & Star hotels would not consider any reduction in their tariffs.
