I’m trying to find the cheapest hotel rates I can possibly get. I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a difference between Orbitz, Hotels.com, Priceline, and Expedia. Do any of these websites have significantly lower hotel prices than another? Or are they all about the same?

Yeah, I’m frugal. I’ve noticed, when looking through hotel websites, that the ‘corporate rate’ is many times cheaper than AAA or any other discount. If I’m travelling by myself (not for business), or with my family on vacation, can I take advantage of these rates too? What would qualify someone to use these rates, and do I need to show any corporate ID (I do work for a Fortune 500 company, so I have that, but never travel on business)? I’ll save whatever I can wherever I can. Thanks.

I went to the nearest hotel and they gave me the price for an hour and for the evening. Why would a hotel give me a quote per hour and is it normal? I’ve looked online at hotel prices in thailand. Bangkok and pattaya dont seem so bad but phuket is a bit expensive. I have a thai friend here that will be going with us… do you think they’d give us a discounted price if she called and spoke to them in thai ??? I’ve read that they jack their prices up…on all the websites and even sometimes when your there in person, because “westerners” dont know how cheap it really is there. What do you think???
